A spool pad-retainer can guide and retain a stripper plate. It can
also pre-load a die spring. In operation, this example shows the die spring compressed
between the die shoe and the stripper plate providing a pre-loaded spring pressure to the
stripper. When the stripper plate is forced upward, the spring is further compressed while
the spool guides the stripper. A thread-locking compound can be used to prevent the
socket-head cap-screw from being loosened by shock or vibration. |
