Mold Slide |
 |
| A self-lubricating-bronze gib assembly in a mold can enable the molding of
complex parts. The L-gibs and base plate provide low friction surfaces for guiding the
slide's movements. In operation, the angle-pin and heel-block push the slide to the left
to close the molding cavity when the mold is closed. When the mold is opened, the
angle-pin pulls the slide away from the molded part enabling part ejection. The gib
assembly can be installed in a milled cavity in the mold base. The end of the slide can be
machined as needed to form contours in the molded part. Grease fittings or other
lubrication means are not required for these gib assemblies. |

Forming Die |
 |
A self-lubricating-bronze gib assembly in a stamping die can form
a sheet-metal part. The L-gibs and base plate provide low friction surfaces for guiding
the slide's movement. In operation, the cam-driver pushes the slide toward the anvil to
wrap the sheet metal under the anvil when the die is closed. When the die is opened, the
return-spring pushes the slide away from the anvil enabling part ejection. The gib
assembly can be installed in a milled cavity in the die shoe. The end of the slide can be
machined to form the sheet-metal part. Grease fittings or other lubrication means are not
required for these gib assemblies. |
