Lamina-Bronze Wear Strips |
| Custom
Mold Slide |
 |
| Lamina-bronze wear strips in a mold can provide low friction surfaces for slide
and heel-block movements. In operation, the angle-pin and heel-block push the slide to the
left to close the molding cavity when the mold is closed. When the mold is opened, the
angle-pin pulls the slide away from the molded part enabling part ejection. Grease
fittings or other lubrication means should be provided for the wear strips if ordered
without the optional graphite plugs. The slide and heel block can be made of 4140 steel,
P20 steel, or other materials. |

Forming Die |
 |
Lamina-bronze wear strips in a cam forming die can provide low
friction surfaces for slide and cam-driver movements. In operation, the cam-driver pushes
the slide to the left to wrap the sheet metal under the anvil when the die is closed. When
the die is opened, the return-spring pushes the slide away from the anvil enabling part
ejection. Grease fittings or other lubrication means should be provided for these wear
strips if ordered without the optional graphite plugs. |

Piercing Die |
 |
Lamina-bronze wear strips and L-gibs in a cam piercing die can
provide low friction surfaces for slide and cam-driver movements. In operation, the
cam-driver pushes the slide to the left to punch a hole in the sheet metal when the die is
closed. When the die is opened, the return-spring pushes the slide away from the anvil
enabling part ejection. A punch stripper (not shown) will be needed to remove the punch
from the sheet metal. Grease fittings or other lubrication means should be provided for
these wear strips and L-gibs if ordered without the optional graphite plugs. |
